Cliff Robertson dead at 88 who was an Oscar Winner


    Clifford Parker "Cliff"' 3rd Robertson , was born on September 9, 1923.He was an American actor with a film and television career that spanned half of a century. Robertson won the 1968 Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the movie Charly. His father's name was Clifford Parker 2nd Robertson and Audrey. He won a Best Actor Oscar for Charly. His secretary of 53 years told the Associated Press that he died in Stony Brook, N.Y., of natural causes a day after his birthday.

    Robertson was prominently victimized in a 1977 Hollywood forgery scandal. He also gained attention for his second marriage to actress and heiress Dina Merrill. In 1977 Robertson made the headlines again, this time by blowing the whistle on a Hollywood financial scandal.
    Robertson’s best-know role was, perhaps, in real-life
    and he won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance as the mentally-impaired Charly. Based on the award-winning book Flowers for Algernon, 1968's Charly saw Robertson play mentally disabled bakery worker Charlie Gordo. He died of natural causes Saturday, one day after his 88th birthday, at Stony Brook University Medical Cente. In 2002, Robertson was cast as Peter Parker's kindly uncle Ben in Sam Raimi's adaptation of Spider-Man.He was a clever man and most respectful personality all over the world.
